ACTIVITY CENTRE WOLVERHAMPTON
PART II STUDENT PROJECT
The brief for this project was to find ways to develop this activity centre in on the banks of a canal in Wolverhampton.
I proposed a phased scheme with a new rectangular classroom being built in the car park as phase 1. This would allow the existing building to be renovated without shutting the centre altogether, and creates a protected outside area between the existing and new buildings. In the final phase the buildings are linked together with rooms that provide a new reception and large space for the bike workshop. It would also replace the long ramp with a lift and staircase.
The centre's outdoor activities would be linked together with a new tree-top adventure that would start from the new roof terrace go through the wood, cross under the bridge and end with the rope-slide back across the canal.
